At the time of Mr. Foxx's passing, the original "foxxchoirs.com" was already offline. I commented in a thread somewhere that I'd love to get it going again. Some months later I contacted Jim's son, David, who very kindly offered me tapes, CDs, and videos, but said no one in the family had the site itself, and confirmed that the hosting provider had taken it offline. I knew it was futile, but I reached out to the old hosting provider - no luck.
I knew Jim had spent a ton of time on the site. I remember him transferring audio from tape to CD and mp3 in his office at Clovis High. Between that and the site itself, he must have spent hundreds of hours making it all available for his students. It seemed tremendously unfair - how could we lose things like this:

I just couldn't bear it... that little fox is too adorable.
Then, in August of 2025, something somewhere crossed my eyes about the Internet Archive - the "Wayback Machine" - which (as a huge nerd) I have known about for years. The Internet Archive is a non-profit that crawls the web and archives pages.
They had it. I felt like an idiot.
They had roughly 25 snapshots of the site, every so often, between 2009 and 2019. I found a company that was able to provide a consolidated zip file of the site contents. Basically, it was the latest capture of every file on record: all the pages, images, and the 870 (!) audio files Jim had put up. As far as I can tell, there are roughly 100 audio files that either didn't get archived or had a problem in the old site. Not too bad... fast forward 12 months (plus a few thousand Claude tokens) and we're back! I tried to leave the site very close to how it was since part of the charm is seeing it as Jim constructed it.
